Green Heart Africa
Green Heart Africa (GHA) was conceived by Indian and Ivorian promoters to give a boost to the Comprehensive Food Security in Côte d’Ivoire. Resolved to take up the challenges of malnutrition and food security with significant disparities persisting notably among the rural communities in northern Côte d’Ivoire. GHA has signed with the Government of Côte d’Ivoire to undertake paddy cultivation in 25,000 HA in their northern region.

National Office for the Development of Rice (ONDR), now ADERIZ (AGENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RICE SECTOR), is the Project Manager for SNDR. ADERIZ has assigned Bounkani region (North East of the country) to GHA. Bounkani Region has an area of about 21,600 sq km and a population of 2,267,000. GHA has joined a team of another nine international players in augmenting rice production in Côte d’Ivoire.
Government undertakes to provide irrigational facility up to the area of cultivation; creates infrastructure facilities..roads, check dams, dams, water channels etc. Côte d’Ivoire being traditionally a rice growing country, it has its own technical knowhow and manpower and there is no bar to bring the technology from outside also.
